Tu Meke Tuesday 2 March: Room 7 Check-In, RemoveBG and pixabay

 Ata marie!

Great to see all of you who joined in the fun this morning, especially from the same funky kitchen.

Thank you to Mr Goodwin for joining us today and leading a fun lesson on adding ourselves to cool backgrounds. We'll giver it a crack today and upload to our blogs.

How to recreate YOU in your own background - For those of you looking for instructions, here's what I remember:

1. Have a profile pic of yourself available to use; try the webcam on your device.

2. Go to https://www.remove.bg/

3. Click 'upload image' to upload your profile pic

4. Download

5. Open a new Google Drawing > Change file name to '(your name) remove bg' > Save to your Cyerbsermart folder (thanks, Krista!)

6. Insert your profile pic > Align your new pic to the bottom of the GDrawing page > Resize as required

7. Go to pixabay and search a background where you would rather be (e.g. beach, bush, space, library, etc.) > Click 'Free Download' for the background you would like to use

8. Insert your background as a picture to your Google Drawing > Resize your background to fit the working space (the checker boxes) of your GDrawing > Right-click the background and 'send to back'

9. Download as a .png or .jpg

10. Share to your blog! Don't forget to add a catchy title and tell us about the place you would rather be! Key word use could include removebg, where I'd rather be, lockdown, Level 3, home learning, cybersmart.

Ahhh, the trusty ol' bakery. This is a pretty, fancy-looking bakery but a bakery none the less. I love it when my nostrils drag me towards freshly baked goods. It happens anytime I stroll past the Master of Pastry ... actually it happens whenever I walk past any food shop. You can see from this picture that I am spoilt for choice. "Sir, I'll take one Bavarian Kreme please. Yes, one dozen. Good day, sir".

  1. Kia ora Matua! Well done, this post is awesome. Glad you and the class loved the challenge. I have to say I'm a fan of the Bavarian Kreme myself. Can't wait to see where the class all got to as well.
