Term 1 Week 9 - What have we been up to this week?

Kia ora tatou!

We've been up to quite a bit in a four-day week: Hauora Heroes for inquiry, starting our reading programme, sharing our ideas for classroom furniture and break time field proposals. Cannot forget our awesome Cybersmart learning with Mr Goodwin!

Cybersmart learning: "A picture of me by me": I wasn't able to finish my picture but my class were streaks ahead of me when we did this lesson on Tuesday. Mr Goodwin showed us how to use Google Drawings to create pictures of ourselves. Important parts include the polyline tool, ordering and colouring. There is a genuine interest and "wow" factor with the lessons we've had so far. This is DJ's finished piece, which I know he spent a lot of time working on. Ka rawe, DJ!

Duffy Books role model: Who is Jamie Wall?: Unfortunately our class missed Duffy Books role model, Jamie Wall, as we were at Y7&8 Technology classes. We did however spend some time getting familiar with who Jamie is. As a rugby fan myself, it was really great to see how someone has turned their passion for the oval ball into a thriving writing career.
