Kia ora, e te whānau!
We're back this week for what we hope is a full and covid-free time.
We are still getting our online learning off the ground but it's great to see so many R7 students making the effort to be prepared every day for school.
This morning, we discussed and shared what it means to be prepared every day, from the time we wake up to when we arrive at school. We even looked at some expectations when we're at home.
How do we prepare ourselves for school EVERY DAY?
Before you leave the house
Good night’s rest and get up early; good morning!
Make your bed
Bathroom; wash; brush; deodorise
Get dressed into uniform
Eat breakfast and prepare lunch
Pack your school bag: books, bag, water bottle, stationery, school jersey/jacket, personal items; hat
Chores
Off to school!
Before School Starts
Road patrol if this is you
Walk into class; good morning to teacher
Hang up your school bag
Bring in any items you need for the day: pencil case, books, water bottle
Collect your daily box and pick your desk
Read the D.R.O.
Do something quiet in the class or go back outside to play
8.55am bell: Line up quietly outside the classroom. “Ata marie, Mr Nevalagi!”
Pack up
All daily items back in your box; anything to go home goes in your bag
Collect device OR stow in the COW for charging
Clean up around your desk area; clean up the classroom
Teacher will call to collect your school bags; class dismissed
At home
Allow at least 30-40 minutes for any homework
Go for a run! Chores, help out around the house
Read
Do something quiet without a device before going to bed
Go to sleep at a reasonable hour
A very good list you have created at the the start but you PUSHED your work more further to make your list more better and longer.:) i kind of had fun writing it down.
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there, Ocean - very punny!
DeleteThank you for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the lesson.

I liked the one at the end (At home) Allow at least 30 - 40 minutes on homework. That's what I'm doing right now. L.O.L😄😄😄😄😄😄
ReplyDeleteThanks, Willie! It makes me very happy to see some of my students are staying true to this task. Thanks for your comment.

ReplyDeleteHey, Krista! Thanks for your comment. I'm sure your family would appreciate the extra help around the house - plenty time for Tiktok!
ReplyDeleteWe've got a couple of guests joining us tomorrow. Mr Goodwin for our online learning, and Charlene to lead a writing workshop. I'm excited too!
Mr N
I will work on sleeping at a reasonable hour😅
ReplyDeleteMe too, Satui. I have to be out of bed by 5.30am so I'll be logging out soon.
DeleteThanks for your message!
Mr N
haha i wish i could do those:(
ReplyDeleteHey, Sonny. Turn those wishes into reality - you can start the list tonight by going to bed at a reasonable hour. My Google research tells me that's anywhere between 9-12 hours. Kia pai te pō e tama!

Kia ora, Ryleigh
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment, we're glad to see it made you try and improve your morning routine. We made this list to help remind us what it means to be prepared for our day, especially when we came back from lockdown earlier this year.
