Literacy: Caged Bird - Literal Analysis

 Hey team

Good session today about our feature poem for reading, Caged Bird, and the literal meaning of each stanza. We analysed each stanza and almost every line to understand what the 'basic' meaning of the poem is.

Could you please leave a comment regarding what you think this poem could really be about:

* What, or who, do you think is represented by the free bird and the caged bird?

* What links can you make between your own life, or the world around you, and Caged Bird?

Regards

Mr N

  1. Kia Ora Maya, I definitely agree that birds should not be in a cage. They should be free. It’s important for them to be free so they can explore the world. Also, have you ever had a bird? If so, what type of bird? If not what type of bird would you have?
